Mexico offers significant opportunities for Permian energy

Permian Basin operators looking east to ship their production to Corpus Christi or Houston to find its way overseas are also looking south to Texas’ southern neighbor.

“All projects connecting the Permian Basin with Corpus Christi also connect it to northern Mexico,” said Brandon Seale, president of Howard Energy Mexico.

Seale, who was in Midland recently to participate in a panel discussion on Mexico’s potential at Hart Energy’s Midstream Texas conference, said producers are “trying to move their production to market but to premium markets” that create an outlet for getting better prices.

The San Antonio-based company, initially active in South Texas, is also active in northern Mexico, “playing off our South Texas assets. We have pipelines running from South Texas into Monterrey, Mexico,” he said.
